Let's meet Attorney Yochum
Abby is a member of the Washington County Bar Association and current President Elect of the Young Lawyers Division. Attorney Yochum was also a fellow for the ACBA Lawyer’s Fund Fellowship and the 2015 awardee of the University of Pittsburgh’s Iris Marion Young Graduate Award for Political Engagement. They are published in the Journal of Race, Gender, and Poverty and served as the Articles Editor of the Pittsburgh Tax Review in law school.
In their spare time, Abby sits on the Steering Committees of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County for CEDAW (Convention to End All Forms of Discrimination Against Women) that passed the 2016 Gender Equity Ordinance in the City of Pittsburgh that started the Gender Equity Committee.
Coming from a legal aid background, Abby is committed to justice by providing quality legal representation in Southwestern Pennsylvania at an affordable price and advocating for marginalized communities and clients of all backgrounds.
Abby currently lives in the South Hills with their partner and three cats!
Abby graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2017 with a Juris Doctorate and Master’s of Social Work in Community Organizing and Social Action.
Immediately after passing the Pennsylvania Bar exam, Abby worked as a law clerk where they assisted two Judges in their daily court proceedings including all family law proceedings, juvenile welfare and a variety of other civil and criminal matters. After clerking, they went on to work at Southwestern Pennsylvania Legal Aid Services where they focused on housing discrimination, landlord/tenant, Family Law, including custody, juvenile, support and Protection From Abuse.
